School Closing Information

Welcome to the school closing page of our District’s website. The page is designed to provide a list of informational resources available to you regarding unscheduled school closings, unscheduled early releases and unscheduled delayed starts, and how we communicate those events to our students, parents and families.

Weather Related Closings, Delays or Early Releases

The most common cause of school delays or closings is inclement weather. If school will be delayed or canceled due to inclement weather, an automated phone call will be placed to families as soon as practical and an emergency text notification sent out to those with cell phones appropriately listed in Skyward Family Access. Information will also be made available on the home page of our website, as well as posted on our social media outlets, in addition to our notification of local media outlets.

Non-Weather Related School Closings, Delays, or Early Release:

If school will be closed, delayed for released early for another reason other than a weather-related closing, we will also use the similar communication methods identified in our weather related closings communication plan. Notifications will be made, as soon as practical, to parents using the automated phone call system to impacted students, parents, and families, in addition to updates provided on our District website, social media outlets, and timely releases of information to the local media.
