School-based mental health services are professional assessments, therapies, and skill trainings provided to individual students at the school, with the support and involvement of the student’s parent. The School District of Milton provides free space in a confidential setting to community mental health clinicians because we feel it is beneficial to our students and their families for multiple reasons including:
-
Removes barriers for students to access needed services
-
Meets the child in their natural setting/comfort zone
-
Reduces out of school time to travel to services
-
Increases opportunities to coordinate services with school, staff, and family
-
Supports student success and mental health
