Welcome to Milton Middle School

On behalf of all of the Milton Middle School staff, I would like to welcome everyone to the 2016-2017 school year!

We have a wonderful school community. Our building is full of caring, skilled administrators, teachers and support staff who are experts in student learning, care about your son or daughter's well-being and are committed to doing what is best for your child. Parents and community members contribute to our school through donations and volunteering. If you are interested in helping out at school please contact our main office and we will connect you with a teacher in need!  Our Parent Organization s very active organizing fund raisers, planning events and working with the staff to meet the needs of ALL of our middle school learners.

We encourage each and every student to get involved while at MMS. Please join a club or a team, participate in the arts or be in the musical! Cheer your friends on at athletic events, bust a move at our dances or hang out with your friends at rec nights.

Middle school is a time of a change. It is an exciting time, but it can also be challenging with the increase in workloads, the social adjustment as well as having multiple teachers throughout the course of the day. Red Hawks, I encourage you to do the following so you can be successful in your transition and time in middle school:

POLITELY communicate with others in a respectful and meaningful way.
PRODUCTIVELY contribute to our school community in a collaborative respectful manner.
Complete all homework so that in class you are PREPARED to pose questions, examine possibilities, and challenge yourself to find solutions.
Make SAFE and positive choices related to physical and mental wellness.

Parents, please make time to:

Ask your student(s) specific questions about their time at school. For example, “What was a good question you asked today?” or “Tell me about the book you are reading?” or "What are you interested in doing after high school?"
Use the Skyward Family Access and Schoology early and often. Your interest and concern in their school progress will motivate them to do their best.

Communicate with your child’s teachers and staff members to establish a successful home/school connection. All of our teachers have classroom Schoology websites with their contact information, homework assignments, and useful resources.

The school year holds many important opportunities for the development of your child and it is critical that we unite our efforts to help them succeed. Please feel free to contact us with questions, comments, or concerns. We are here to help. We look forward to working with you and appreciate the support.

Professional Background

I am honored to be starting my third year in the School District of Milton!  What an amazing community!

This is my 13th year as an educator. I started teaching science, language arts and reading at Whitefish Bay Middle School to both 7th and 8th graders.  When my family moved to Sussex I was hired at Templeton Middle School and taught reading and science to 7th graders.  I earned my masters in education along with an administrative license in 2010.  From 2012-2014 I worked as an associate principal at New Berlin West Middle and High School.

My family has been extremely supportive of my career and is excited to be joining me in Milton!  My son Bobby will be attending Northside Intermediate School as a fifth grader and daughter Emily will attend Harmony Elementary as a second-grader.

Please feel free to call or stop by for a visit!  I look forward to meeting you!
