Nutrition Team Information

The Nutrition Team offers breakfast and lunch daily when school is in session at all eight of our district schools, including MECAS.  Menus are planned in accordance with the School Breakfast Program (SBP) and National School Lunch Program (NSLP) guidelines developed by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).  Menus are tailored to meet the needs of students based on age/grade level and target specific calorie ranges and nutrients to enhance learning and to promote healthy growth and development of all students.  There are daily and weekly targets for protein, whole-grain rich sources of breads, cereals and pastas, fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy.

New for 2015 - 2016!

Does your high school student complain that they're tired and hungry after a full day of school? Are they involved in sports or other school-related activities that keep them at school after-hours? Is it a challenge to find quality snacks to send with them that will sustain them through those evening activities?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, we have a solution for you...

Beginning Tuesday, September 8, 2015, Cafe Refuel will open for business at MHS. Cafe Refuel will provide access to a variety of food, snack and beverage options for students involved in after-school activities on campus. Just as nutrition is important for fueling learning in the classroom, it is important that students, particularly student athletes, eat and hydrate at regular intervals to receive full benefit from practice sessions and maximize performance during competition.

Cafe Refuel will be located in the Upper Cafeteria and will be open daily Monday through Friday (when school is in session) from 2:55 PM (Dismissal Bell) - 3:40 PM. Student purchases can be made with cash or with family meal account funds in Skyward. Please talk to your student about responsible use of your family meal account funds.

Professional Background

I am excited to be entering the start of my fourth year in the School District of Milton. Milton is a wonderful community that truly supports education and its children, and I am so proud to be a part of it!

I have 12 years of experience in the field of School Nutrition, spending my first 8 years as the Food Service Director at Pulaski Community School District, northwest of Green Bay, prior to coming to Milton. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

I am married to an educator, and we have one daughter that currently attends Milton Middle School. Additionally, I am a USA-Certified Coach for the Milton Marlins.

Thank you for visiting our page, and please feel free to contact me with any questions related to our program!
