For several years our district looked for solutions to address our facility issues which include classroom and common space overcrowding, ADA accessibility, building security, and our ability to support modern learning. In January 2019 our Board of Education voted 7-0 to place a facilities referendum question on the April election ballot. The question was designed to address the district's previously identified facilities needs. On April 2, 2019, the School District of Milton voters approved a $59.9 million referendum for additions and renovations to nearly every school. The goal of the referendum was, and continues to be, to help provide safe and quality educational experiences for our students.

The board of education contracted with Huffman Facility Development to act as the districts owners' representative through the design, bidding, and construction phasing of the $59.9 facilities referendum. As part of the Huffman Facility Development services, they provide a monthly progress report on all phases of the ongoing projects. This written report is provided to the board on the second board meeting of each month.
