Instructional and Facilities Needs

After engaging the community in 2014 in the development of the district's strategic plan, the Board of Education surveyed the community in a "Community Priorities Survey".  More than 1,100 people responded, and identified 3 core areas of importance, which included the recruitment and retention of high-quality staff, keeping our schools safe and secure, and maintaining safe and secure buildings as well as addressing aging district facilities. Our Board of Education and district administration wasted no time in attempting to figure out the best ways to address those community prioritized needs. 

After those priorities were identified, in the Spring of 2015, the Board directed staff to work with the district's contracted architect PRA to conduct an instructional and facilities needs assessment.  The entire document is 128 pages in length, and can be requested by calling Communications Supervisor Jerry Schuetz at 608-868-9222, or via e-mail at schuetzj@milton.k12.wi.us.  A summarized presentation of the instructional and facilities needs assessment was shared with our community in July of 2015, and again with the Facilities Advisory Community Team (F.A.C.T.) in the Spring of 2016.  To view those presentations please click on the links below.
